“Game Of Thrones” Season 7 Promises A Villian More Evil Than Ramsay Bolton

The “Game of Thrones” fan base is not a unified group but we can all agree on one thing: Ramsay Bolton is the worst. All book-purist and occasional watchers of the show watched his rise with fear, thinking, “Surely, this is the worst man in all of Westeros.” According to actor Pilou Asbaek, who plays Euron Greyjoy, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

George R.R. Martin has made a habit of handing fans twists and deaths we never expected or wanted. We all thought Ned Stark would uproot the Lannisters. We all thought Theon Greyjoy was annoying and eventually, found him worthy of punishment. But nothing like the transformation into Reek. We all thought that, surely, none could be worse than Ramsay Bolton, but here we stand, with two more seasons of the show. Did we really think that the worst was behind us?

Euron Greyjoy is Theon’s ruthless uncle who is a menacing threat in the books. In the show, he is little more than a ambitious upstart looking to start the viking renaissance. His driftwood crown in the show makes him look like a play-king, not a seething, bloodthirsty pirate with both the brains and ability to upset the Iron Throne. The Iron Islands, like the Martell storyline, was as interesting as a half-deflated balloon in season 6. It seems like that is all about to change.
