The First Time We Met Miley Cyrus (“Hannah Montana” Audition Tape Edition)

Yes, technically, we met Miley Cyrus long ago when she was a toddler roaming around on stage with Billy Ray Cyrus. But, when Billy Ray was getting all achy breaky on us, Miley was just his daughter.

Now, Billy Ray is totally just Miley’s dad.

“Hannah Montana” aired on the Disney Channel for four seasons from 2006 through 2011. The success of the series and Miley’s portrayal of a regular teenager by day and pop sensation by night led to the release of four soundtracks, a large tour, and a feature-length film.

The show also lead to a recording contract for Miley. Her debut album Meet Miley Cyrus went triple Platinum in 2007 and its follow-up 2008’s Breakout also went Platinum.

After her third album Can’t Be Tamed was released without much acclaim, Miley took a musical break to focus on acting.

Of course, we all know the rest of the story– Miley’s 2013 performance during MTV’s Video Music Awards cemented her status as– something. She released Bangerz that same year, which included the mega-successful single, “Wrecking Ball.”

Miley will be a full-time judge during season 12 of NBC’s “The Voice” and to think– it all started with this audition.
