Cranberry Sangria Is Here To Make The Holidays Even Sweeter

When I came across the recipe for apple cider sangria, I thought life couldn’t get much better– but then I found cranberry sangria, A.K.A., your new holiday BFF. This recipe puts a festive twist on the classic sangria recipe we all know (and love), making it the perfect cocktail for you to whip up and serve for your Thanksgiving or Christmas celebration.

How To Make Cranberry Sangria:

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 cranberry-flavored tea bags
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 4 lemon slices
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, ground
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger, ground
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 bottles white wine
  • 4 apples
  • 1 1/2 cups dried cranberries
  • 2 fl oz. apple brandy

In a sauce pan, combine sugar, tea bags, lemon slices, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and water, and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes (and enjoy the smells!) Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool, then strain out the spices, lemon and tea bags. In a covered container, pour the white wine followed by the tea mixture. Add chopped apples and cranberries, then add in the apple brandy and stir until it’s all well-combined. Chill for 24-48 hours, then serve over ice!

P.S. If you want to make a kid-friendly or virgin option, use white grape juice instead of wine, and 1/4 cup of apple juice instead of apple brandy.
