Bobby Flay’s Parker House Roll Recipe

I don’t know about you, but the idea of making bread always intimidates me a little bit. After all, bread is the glue for any good meal, so you don’t want to screw it up. Whether you’ve got a big group getting together for Thanksgiving, Christmas or just because, Bobby Flay’s homemade Parker House Roll recipe better be in attendance.

How To Make Bobby Flay’s Parker House Rolls:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 3 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring milk to a simmer, then remove from heat and add in the butter and sugar. Let the mixture cool while you dissolve yeast in warm water, letting it sit until it gets foamy. Combine the milk mixture, eggs, yeast, salt and 1/2 of the flour and mix until a smooth dough forms. Add the remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time. Remove the dough from the bowl and knead it for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased, covered bowl in a warm place for about an hour, or until the dough doubles in size.
On a floured surface, knead out the dough, then use your hands to form dough balls. Place the dough on a lined baking sheet, cover, and let them rise until doubled again, about 30-45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and bake the buns for about 20 minutes. Brush them with melted butter, and serve warm!
