Football season is here, and whether you’re hitting the tailgates or watching the game from home, I think we can all agree that some tasty finger foods are basically a must-have. In fact, sometimes the snack table (and the beer) is the only thing we have to turn to when the game isn’t going well.

One of my favorite appetizer recipes to make for game day is a tried-and-true crowd pleaser: Pigs in a Blanket. This particular recipe is easy, cheap, and seriously so good.

Easy Pigs in a Blanket Recipe:

  • 1 can of crescent roll dough
  • 1 pack of little smokies sausages
  • 1/4 cup of dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • Poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)
  • Dipping sauces of choice
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. While it’s heating, roll out the crescent dough and cut each triangle into thirds, making strips from each roll. Lay out all of the strips and give them a light coating of dijon mustard. Put one sausage on the end of a strip and roll it up like a burrito. Once you’ve done this with all of your sausage/strips, arrange them on a pan and brush them with the egg wash, and sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds. Bake about 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls appear golden brown.
