If you’re like me, desserts are the best part of any meal. Not only are they the perfectly sweet finish to any savory dish, but they really just make you feel good.

As a dessert fan and connoisseur, I am always looking for new delicious ways to cook up tasty treats and while I’ve tried everything from desserts in a jar to desserts in the microwave to desserts in a slow cooker, I have never before made a dessert in a skillet — until now.

  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 package of instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups of flour

Filling Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoon cinnamon

Icing Ingredients:

  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. In your mixture (preferably with a dough hook) combine the water, yeast, sugar and eggs.
  2. After completely combined, add salt, cinnamon, milk and butter.
  3.  While your mixer is on medium speed, add 2 cups of flour .
  4. Continue to add flour little by little until you have a smooth ball of dough.
  5. Place the ball in a greased bowl, cover and let it rise for about 1 1/2 hours until it’s about double the size.
  6. While the dough is rising, combine the sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  7. When the dough has risen, roll the dough into a rectangle approximately 18 x 12.
  8. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the dough until it is completely covered.
  9. Cut the dough into 6 2-inch wide strips and then cut those strips in half.
  10. Tightly roll the first strip to form the center.
  11. Then, place the core at the end of the next strip and roll.
  12. Continue doing this until you have rolled your first 6 strips.
  13. Place this part of the roll into the center of the skillet.
  14. Then, wrap the remaining strips around the center one at a time.
  15. Cover the skillet and let the roll rise until it fills the skillet almost completely.
  16. It should take 45 minutes – 1 1/2 hours.
  17. Preheat your oven to 400.
