New Year’s Eve is a time of celebration. Everyone is looking forward to a fresh start and anticipation of the new year is at an all-time high.
This year, while celebrating with friends and waiting for the clock to strike midnight, impress your guests with some perfectly festive and delicious champagne cocktails. You don’t even have to be a professional mixologist to create these bad boys.
5 Festive (and Easy) New Year’s Eve Champagne Cocktails:
1. Orange Sorbet Champagne Float
Ingredients:
- 2 oranges
- chilled champagne
- 1 pint orange sorbet (or sherbet)
Equipment:
- 4 champagne glasses
Directions:
- Cut thick slices of orange for garnish.
- Set aside.
- Squeeze the juice from the rest oranges between the four glasses.
- Add two scoops of the orange sorbet.
- Fill the glasses with champagne.
- Enjoy!
2. Coconut and Pineapple Champagne Cocktail
Ingredients:
- pineapple juice
- coconut juice blend
- chilled champagne
- simple syrup
- finely shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)
Equipment:
- champagne glasses
Directions:
- Pour a splash of simple syrup in a bowl.
- Pour a hand full of shredded coconut into another bowl.
- Dip the top of your champagne glasses in the simple syrup and then in the shredded so that the rim is well coated.
- Set aside to dry.
- Fill each champagne glass with approximately 1 ½ ounces of both the pineapple and the coconut juice.
- Fill the glass the rest of the way with the champagne.
- Enjoy!
3. Cherry Orange Champagne Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 orange
- 1 cup orange juice
- ½ cup maraschino red cherries
- ½ cup sweet vermouth
- ¼ cup blended Scotch
- 1 bottle dry champagne
Equipment:
- blender
- 8 champagne glasses
Directions:
- Pour orange juice into a blender.
- Add cherries.
- Blend until fruit is pureed.
- Strain juice into a pitcher.
- Stir in vermouth and Scotch.
- Divide cocktail mixture among eight glasses.
- Top off each glass with champagne.
- Garnish with an orange peel.
- Enjoy!
4. French 75
Ingredients:
- ice
- 1½ ounce Cognac
- ½ ounce simple syrup
- ½ ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1 bottle champagne
Equipment:
- cocktail shaker
- martini or champagne glasses
Directions:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add the cognac, simple syrup and lemon juice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a martini glass, top with champagne and serve.
5. Champagne Punch
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle champagne
- 1 1/2 ounces brandy
- 1 1/2 ounces Cointreau
- 1 bottle club soda
- rind of 1 orange
- slices of pineapple
- slices of orange
- strawberries
- mint leaves
- ice
Equipment:
- punch bowl
- ladle
Directions:
- In a punch bowl, pour in all ingredients over ice.
- Decorate with sliced pineapple, strawberries, orange and fresh mint.
- Ladle and enjoy!
