The holidays are here and you know what that means, lots of family, lots of money spending, lots of eating and lots of stress. Now, let’s get one thing straight, alcohol is not and never will it be the answer, but sometimes it’s a nice little compliment to the holiday season and sometimes, just sometimes, wine isn’t strong enough.

So sit back, relax and enjoy these delicious holiday cocktails.

5 Super Strong Cocktail Recipes That will Definitely Get You Through the Holidays:

1. Hot and Heavy


  • 2 oz Partida Añejo Tequila
  • 6 oz Hot Spiced Apple Cider
  • Heavy cream


Warm up a glass and add the tequila and cider to the glass.

Add just a bit of the heavy cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick.


2. A Rum Good Time


  • 1.5 oz rum
  • 1 tbsp hot buttered rum batter
  • Boiling water


Pour the rum and hot buttered rum into a mug. Fill with boiling water. Drink up!


3. Poor Man’s Punch


  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • .25 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • .75 oz Maple syrup
  • 2 oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon
  • Old Speckled Hen Beer


Add everything but the beer to a shaker and fill with ice.

Shake and strain into a glass with fresh ice.

Add the beer and throw in an orange.


4. Rosemary, Grape and Gin Cocktail 


  • 1/2c up sugar
  • fresh rosemary sprigs
  • cup Concord grape juice
  • 3/4 cup gin
  • 1/2 cup club soda
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • grapes, for garnish


In a small saucepan, bring the sugar, 4 of the rosemary sprigs, and ½ cup water to a simmer. Remove from heat and let cool.

Strain the sugar syrup into a large pitcher. Add the grape juice, gin, club soda, and lemon juice and stir to combine. Serve over ice; garnish each glass with grapes and 1 of the remaining rosemary sprigs.


5. Candy Cane Cocktail 


  • 1 candy cane, crushed, for garnish
  • 2 ounces strawberry vodka
  • 4 dashes white creme de menthe
  • 2 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
  • ice cubes


Place crushed candy canes on a small plate or saucer. Wet the outside rim of a chilled martini glass with water. Holding the glass by the stem, rotate the rim to coat with candy.
