Give your guests a little extra fun at your reception by including some exciting surprises.
Here are two ideas: one sends your guests home with a tasty reminder of your special day and the other captures priceless memories for you to keep.
A candy bar is a sweet addition to any reception. You can do something very simple to something quite extravagant. First, you will want to decide what kind of candy to serve. A variety of selections from the local grocery store can be fun and easy. Or you can dress things up by using specialty candies. They can even match the color scheme of your wedding.
Another delicious extra is a chocolate fountain. Provide plenty of dipping items, such as strawberries, marshmallows and pretzel rods. Of course, this can be messy, so extra plates and napkins are a must. Alternatively, you can create a beautiful display of brownie or cake pops to go along with the candy. Place some styrafoam in a cute container to hold the sticks and then hide the stryrafoam with tulle.
Glass containers allow guests to see the festive candy. You can use anything for this, such as apothecary jars, vases, or bowls. Another option is tiered silver or glass serving trays. Having a variety of sizes and heights adds interest to the table. Labeling each type of candy in calligraphy adds elegance.
Don’t forget the scoops or large spoons so people don’t have to use their hands. You can provide clear plastic bags with pretty ribbon (no ziplocs please) so that guests can take some treats home. Another option is white paper bags with a sweet message from you printed on them.
Plenty of photos get taken during a wedding, but most guests never see them. A photo booth creates lasting memories for you and your guests. You can hire a photo booth vendor to come and run things. Most likely, they will provide some fun props, but you can also add some of your own. Hats, tiaras, sunglasses, and fake mustaches make for great photos. You can create signs for guests to hold up with wedding related sayings, like “congrats” and “best wedding ever”.
The booth operator should make sure that each guest in the photo gets a copy immediately. Then an extra copy is printed for you and placed in a scrapbook. Guests can make comments next to their photo. The end result is an amazing keepsake for you. Plus as a bonus, guests remember your amazing reception every time they look at the photos on their bulletin board or fridge.
These little extras add big fun on your special day. Don’t forget to treat yourselves to a newlywed photo booth pic and a couple bags of tasty candy.
