4 From-Scratch Fresh Fruit Facials

Summer produces the best fruit, and it’s not just for eating! You can achieve glowing, beautiful skin with a wide variety of simple facial mask recipes.

Before you get started, here are some basic tips. Start with a clean face. Always do a test patch on your neck or behind your ear and wait several minutes to see if you have a reaction. We learned that the hard way at our house. Apparently my teenage daughter is allergic to either green pea extract or licorice root, and that angry rash lasted for days! Keep any mask away from the eye area. The juices from many types of fruit can stain clothing, so don’t wear a nice shirt. Using organic fruit keeps you from exposing skin to pesticides that might be on conventional fruit. When cleaning off the mask, gently use a soft, warm wash cloth.
