Always save room for pie. That’s the number one rule of Southern eating, so if you’re traveling in the South and find yourself within a 50 mile radius of any of these fine restaurants or pie shops, plan to stop. Your taste buds will thank you because these aren’t just ordinary pies. They’re some of the best you’ll ever taste!
5 Best Pie Places in the South:
1. Loveless Cafe – Nashville, Tennessee
Go for the food. Stay for the pie. This legendary cafe is a Nashville favorite. I had the fudge pie nearly three years ago, and to date, it’s the best pie I’ve ever tasted. Some people say the Steeplechase or the Pecan Pie are the way to go, but if you like chocolate, go with the fudge. You won’t be disappointed.
2. Blue Bonnet Cafe – Marble Falls, Texas
The meringue on the pies at the Blue Bonnet Cafe prove that everything truly is bigger in Texas. The Blue Bonnet Cafe of Marble Falls, Texas, has been serving some of the best pies in Texas for more than 80 years. The Coconut Meringue Pie is everybody’s favorite, but Banana Cream Pie is a close second.
3. Pie Lab – Greensboro, Alabama
Pie Lab is a pie lover’s paradise. People travel for miles and miles to the sleepy town of Greensboro, Alabama, just to try the pie. Try the Bourbon Chocolate Pecan, the Oreo Pie, or the Chocolate Chess Pie (pictured below).

4. Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe – Key West, Florida
If you want the best Key Lime Pie, you gotta go to The Keys where you’ll want to find Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe. I could try to describe the delicious chocolate covered Key Lime Pie on a stick, but the picture (below) is worth a thousand words.

5. Charlotte’s Eats & Sweets – Keo, Arkansas
The best pie in Arkansas can found in a little town called, Keo at Charlotte’s Eats & Sweets. Flaky crust, jiggly meringue, and mouth watering pie filling – just the way your Grandma made it. Try the Coconut Pie, but get there early – they run out of it quickly!
