A relative newcomer to the scene, Bay Street Biergarten boasts a cozy interior with table-top taps and excellent service. During the day they are kid-friendly and offer patio games and plenty of seating outside so you can soak up the Carolina sun. First runner up is the Market Pavilion Hotel Rooftop bar, where the beautiful people sun themselves by the pool and drink fruity drinks while being a part of the Lowcountry skyline.
At the River Rat Brewery, patrons have the option for seating outside, and they are dog-friendly. Cornhole games and an outdoor ordering window make this an ideal place for Day Drinking.
Blu’s Beach Bar is a beachfront bar with a pool and a view of the Easternmost point of the United States. Wear your suit and bring your dancing feet; it’s sure to be a good time.
Grapevine has become a local favorite for the large selection of beer, cider, and of course, wine. Their patio on the corner offers ample people-watching and neighborhood chatter most any day of the week. The biggest Day Drinking event of the year, however, is their annual Beertopia Festival in March. Get your tickets early for a day of beer, food trucks, and music with 1,000 of your closest friends.
Holy strong margaritas, Day Drinkers! Head up to the rooftop bar at Gringos for a variety of traditional and creative margaritas by the glass or the pitcher. Have some of the affordable and delicious tacos first to form a good Day Drinking belly base so you don’t run into Day Drinker’s remorse later.
Isle of Palms
The Windjammer is known for its live music, and also has a bar and deck overlooking the Atlantic that is perfect for Day Drinking and listening to the bands on their way up or down the charts.
There are loads of places to get your Day Drink on in Dirty Myrtle, but the best spot is Ocean Annie’s. You can drink a Sex on the Beach and while actually catching a glimpse of people doing just that. It’s not for the pearl-clutching crowd, but that’s half of the lowbrow fun.
Tiger Town Tavern, AKA Triple T’s, is a Clemson tradition for students and alums alike. The menu is all bar food and priced for student budgets, so prepare for lots of light beer, sticky floors, and greasy food; all things a good Day Drinker requires.
