Believe it or not, “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have more hobbies than just renovating houses! If you follow along with their show, you know that they have a farm where they raise goats, cows, and chickens– and their four sweet kiddos (soon to be five!) help maintain and care for the animals.

Chip and Joanna designed it this way– aside from it just being fun for a kid to grow up on a farm and have up close access to animals, they believe it’s teaching their kids a valuable lesson.

“I love the back-to-basics aspect of raising chickens. My kids are getting to learn what it means to care for animals as well as a lesson on where we get our food. It’s one of the simplest ways to experience farm living,” Joanna said in the Spring 2018 edition of The Magnolia Journal.

Chip and Joanna recently renovated their garden and garden house on “Fixer Upper,” and Joanna shared that they hope to use the produce and herbs grown for meals at their new restaurant, Magnolia Table.

Joanna has shared several glimpses into their farm life on her Instagram– a new baby goat was even born ON her birthday last year.

Chip and Joanna currently have a fifth baby on the way, and they’re preparing for the opening of their new restaurant in Waco, Magnolia Table. Joanna has a cookbook coming out in April, also titled “Magnolia Table.”
