If you’ve always wanted to own a motel between Las Vegas and Reno, you’re in luck because the Clown Motel in Tonopah, Nevada is for sale for just under $1 million. There’s just one catch– the current owner really wants you to keep all of the clowns.
Bob Perchetti owns the motel and he told CBS Las Vegas that, “I love clowns” and “As you know, it’s also called the scariest motel in the U.S.”
Scary doesn’t even come close to describing it. The motel is also next to a cemetery.
Perchetti opened the hotel 20 years ago with his business partner who had a “house full of clowns, and he decided to bring the clowns up and put them to work.”
That’s also why Perchetti wants the new owners to keep the clowns– because it’s what the people love.
Don’t worry, Perchetti also said he’s going to come back and visit the clowns.
Perchetti shared in a video that the Clown Motel is also located very close to the town dump– if the cemetery wasn’t enough of a draw for you.
The Clown Motel has 29 rooms with two queen size beds in every room, plus a microwave and a refrigerator.
There’s also WiFi, in case one of the clowns cuts the phone lines in the middle of the night.
There are clown paintings in every room.
This clown is in the lobby, but will haunt your dreams as you sleep in your room.
One reviewer on Yelp! said, “Really charming (and terrifying) motel in a fun middle of nowhere town. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was cheap, tidy enough, and–scary, yes, I admit. Clowns will watch over you while you sleep. Nice mini fridge and microwave in each room, though. That helped balance out the clown fear. “
Another reviewer on Yelp! posted a photo of one of the in-rooms microwaves, asking, “Awesome old-ass microwave in the room! Or is it a time machine?!”
