Long live Joanna Gaines! Though HGTV’s hit show “Fixer Upper” is coming to an end soon, there’s a spinoff series making its way to HGTV next week, and it’s pretty much a dream come true.
According to HGTV, the show, called “Behind The Design,” will premiere on April 10 and will feature never-before-seen designs from Joanna Gaines. The 15-episode series will go behind-the-scenes on some of your favorite “Fixer Upper” houses and will give an in-depth look on how she decides what designs to choose for each home.
“You get the full-on home renovation in “Fixer Upper,” but in this new show, you get the behind the scenes—the pillow choices, the paint color, the softer side of design—to give diehard fans more detail on something that they love,” Kathleen Finch, Scripps Networks Interactive chief programming officer, told Adweek.
The series was originally set to launch in 2017, but was delayed for unknown reasons.
“We get a lot of questions about the designs, and how we get from point A to point Z when it comes to these houses and projects from a design standpoint,” Joanna said in a video she shared on Instagram at the time. “So we have a new series coming out this year, which focuses on each project and you get more inside scoop on how we came up with a lot of the design decisions and elements we got to incorporate.”
