6 Ghostly Desserts So Sweet They’ll Spook You

Halloween brings out the sweet tooth in just about everyone. I am no exception, and I have been guilty of dipping into the kids’ trick or treat stash on occasion. More tempting than candy, though, are these delectable ghostly desserts. Better yet, they’re so easy to make, it’s scary! Check them out.

1. Strawberry Ghosts

All you need to do for these healthy delights is to dip strawberries in melted vanilla flavored candy coating. I like to use Candiquick brand. Decorate with mini chocolate chips for the eyes.

2. Ghosts in the Graveyard

I love this one because it’s so easy. Simply place a Peep ghost on top of a container of chocolate pudding. You can even top the pudding cup with crushed chocolate wafer cookies and add a little candy pumpkin for decoration. Use a toothpick to stand up the Peep if necessary.

3. Meringue Ghosts

Don’t be intimidated by making meringue. This video shows you exactly how to do it. The adorable little ghosts turn out light and fluffy!

4. Cupcake Cones

Have you tried baking cupcakes in ice cream cones? If not, just use your preferred flavor of cake mix and fill each flat bottomed cone 2/3 full with batter. Bake as usual. Then pipe buttercream frosting on top, swirling it up like an ice cream cone, and use Wilton candy eyeballs to decorate. If you don’t have a buttercream frosting recipe, look here.

5. Nutter Butter Ghosts

Dip Nutter Butter Cookies in melted vanilla flavored candy coating. Place on wax paper, and use mini chocolate chips for the eyes.

6. Ghost Sugar Cookies

Roll out a log of refrigerated sugar cookie dough and cut out ghost shapes. Bake as directed. Frost with fluffy white frosting, which is simply a 16 oz. container of vanilla frosting combined with ¾ cup marshmallow cream. Use candy eyeballs or mini chocolate chips to decorate.
