Despite being in the limelight themselves, Chip and Joanna Gaines have done a really good job at protecting the privacy of their four (soon to be 5!) kids. We occassionally get glimpses of them in the background on “Fixer Upper,” but it’s rare that one of them actually gets some screen time.

On the March 20 episode of “Fixer Upper,” Chip and Joanna’s 7-year-old daughter, Emmie Kay, made a very special appearance to help her dad out on a project, and she provided some pretty cute sass, too.

She helped her dad apply adhesive to the back of some gorgeous tiles for the family’s kitchen, and even appeared in an interview with her dad to talk about her work that day.

“You know what they call the stuff that you put on the back of the tile so you can put it on the wall? Do you know what its nickname is,” Chip asks her. When she guesses the nickname right (butter), Chip asks her how she knew, to which she confidently replies, “I don’t know. I just knew because I’m smart.” Mood.

She also then tells her dad that he should get back to work. Basically, she’s the perfect blend of Chip and Jo.

Chip and Joanna are currently expecting their fifth child together, a boy, and we can’t wait to see what name they pick! In the meantime, we’re wrapping up the final season of “Fixer Upper,” and waiting to see “Behind The Design,” Joanna’s special “Fixer Upper” spinoff series.
