Dill Pickle Salad Recipe Perfect For Every Cookout

You can’t go wrong with pickles. From savory relishes to a delicious sandwich add-on, this crunchy favorite is a staple of many of our favorite foods. Unfortunately, pasta salad doesn’t enjoy the same fame. Left over at cookouts, birthday parties, and church gatherings, pasta salad is hardly our definition of an exciting thing to eat. Until now. This dill pickle salad adds the perfect amount of zest and zing to really make a boring pasta salad stand out.


  • 1/2 lb uncooked shell pasta (3 cups)
  • 2/3 cup diced cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup pickles, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp diced white onion
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill
  • 1/2 cup pickle juice
For the dressing:
  • 2/3 cup mayo
  • 4 tbsp pickle juice
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Boil pasta according to package directions. Run under cold water to cool.
Toss cooled pasta with 1/2 cup pickle juice and set aside for 5 minutes to marinate. Drain and toss pickle juice.
Combine dressing ingredients in a small bowl and mix.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, and refrigerate. Serve cold and enjoy.
