It’s scorching hot outside, and the last thing you want to do this late in the summer is go to the beach or the lake. The water is tepid at best, and does little to cool you off when it’s this warm outside. Instead of frying on the beach, shake up your routine by planning a trip to this beautiful ice hotel in Quebec City, Canada.

This thing is outfitted from floor to ceiling with completely solid ice, featuring ice chairs, beds, tables, and even an ice bar. Kids can cool down with a play area made entirely from ice which includes a gigantic slide. If you fancy a drink while the kids are playing, the shots are served in solid glasses made of ice.

When you’re ready to hit the hay, the Quebec Ice Hotel has fur-covered beds made just for you. Hopefully you brought something warm to wear, because it might be hard to sleep on those blocks of ice, even with the fur.

If you can’t manage to keep warm at night, no worries. Each room has a built in fireplace for warming up. We’re not sure how this works with the surrounding ice, but as long as it keeps us warm, we’re good.

If you’re looking for a great place to get married (and to keep most of the family away), look no further than this ice chapel located in the same hotel. This place hosts weddings while the hotel is open, meaning you can enjoy a small fairytale wedding of your dreams without the frustration of a huge crowd.

The Quebec Ice Hotel is open from January 4th to March 26th, 2017, so plan your trip while you still can.
