The average American sees ice on their car and grabs the ice scraper. A couple of swipes later, their windows are clear of ice. Texans lose their minds. These titans of ingenuity (everything’s bigger in Texas) never bought a scraper for $1.99 at a gas station. They never imagined cold weather would effect them. Instead, they grabbed their blowtorches, credit cards, coat hangars, and hot water and proceeded to ruin everything.
6 Unbelievable Items Texans (Including JJ Watt) Used Instead of Ice Scrapers After Winter Weather Hit:
1. Credit Card (Gift Card)
JJ wants to remind everyone he grew up in Wisconsin and this is fine.
That looks like a real credit card!
2. Tamale Spreader
Literally, this would only happen in Texas.
3. BBQ Spatula
Again, only in Texas. At least only in texas would they have special spatulas just for BBQ.
Sounds like something a college-aged guy would do. Result: ineffective on ice and produces numb hands.
5. Kayak Paddle
This is the most Austin-winter tweet ever.
6. Plastic Coat Hanger
Definitely need something a little wider here. Result: time consuming, ineffective, and a poor selection. At least try to find something that could work.
Alternatives: let your car heat up and melt the ice or pour cold water on the ice (hot water could crack the windshield).
Or, buy a dang scraper.
