Wedding Inspiration: Postmarked with Love

If you are looking for a fun way to add a unique touch to your wedding invitations, consider mailing your invitations from a city with a distinctly Southern name or a name pertaining to love, kissing, or roses.

When I got married my mom and I drove to Romance, Arkansas to mail my invitations. Each invitation had a special Romance postmark. It was just something fun and interesting to add to the invitation.

But you don’t have to drive all the way to Arkansas to get a special postmark. Instead, you can have the post office of your choice re-mail them for you. First, prepare your invitations like you would if you were going to be mailing them yourself, so stuff them in envelopes and don’t forget the proper postage on the envelopes.  You can then place them in a larger envelope or box and mail them to the postmaster of the city of your choice. For example, if you wanted them postmarked from Hartsvillle, Tennessee, you would address them like this:

 Postmaster Hartsville, TN

Attn: Wedding Invitation Re-mailing

200 W Main St, Hartsville, TN 37074

Hartsville, TN 37074

It’s always a good idea to call the post office ahead of time and ask how long it will take them to postmark and mail them. If you are mailing from out of state, you should plan on it taking a little longer.

Here are some great Southern cities for you to choose from.

Happy, Texas (for the happy couple)

Sweet Home, Texas (for the Texas lovin’ couple)

Gun Barrel City, Texas (for the gal marrying the Texas country boy)

Loving, Texas

Lovelady, Texas

Romance, Arkansas

Lovejoy, Georgia

Lovely, Kentucky

Hartsville, Tennessee

Kissimmee, Florida

Belle Rose, Louisiana (For the Southern Belle)

Roseland, Louisiana

Noel, Missouri (For the Christmas wedding)

Rose Hill, North Carolina

So pick your favorite and add a little bit of Southern charm and loveliness to your invitation.
