Jack Nicklaus Cries As His Grandson Hit A Hole-In-One during The Masters

Jack Nicklaus has won six Green Jackets at the Masters, the most storied golf tournament in the world. But all of his wins, every memory from the greens of Augusta faded in comparison when his 15-year-old grandson hit a hole-in-one.

Through tears, Nicklaus recounted the story of asking his grandson, GT, to caddy for him. Nicklaus asked him if he wanted to hit from the tee on No. 9, a short par 3 with a difficult green. “I said, ‘I think you’re going to hit a hole-in-one.’ That was three days ago. He had never hit a hole-in-one. It was his first one.”

As Nicklaus wiped tears from his eyes he said, “You always want the best for your kids and your grandkids. He’s up here to caddy for his grandfather, but to knock in a hole-in-one, wow!”

Nicklaus himself authored many memorable moments at Augusta, but there is something special about getting to share a moment with family, watching them succeed. Just getting to be there is enough.
