CMT Music Awards Breakdown: Duo Video of the Year

With five nominations, Carrie Underwood leads the field for the 2015 CMT Music Awards, set to air live on June 10 from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Fans can vote online at in every category through June 8 to determine the winners.

As the 2015 CMT Music Awards draw closer, let’s take a closer look at the Duo Video of the Year Nominees:

Big & Rich // “Look At You”

The debut single off their own record label, Big & Rich get nostalgic in this one. A good video tells a story and this one puts us right in the middle of this love story, that is and isn’t over.

Brothers Osborne // “Rum”

The nitty gritty “Rum” was one of the songs of the summer last year and the video doesn’t tell a story, as much as it paints a picture. We get to go home to Maryland with the brothers and see just what a little rum can do to some crab fishermen.

Florida Georgia Line // “Dirt” // “Sun Daze”

“Dirt” was a totally different vibe for this super-hot duo and the music video was able to transport every person who saw back to their own pile of dirt. The boys do nostalgia and parties well in the “Dirt.”

Florida Georgia Line’s second single off their sophomore album, Anything Goes, was right back to their good-time, party vibe. The party the boys host in “Sun Daze” isn’t easy to relate to, but looks like a lot of fun.

Maddie & Tae // “Girl In A Country Song

If there was a more talked about song or video in country music in the last decade, we must have missed it. The duo’s debut song went to No. 1, made a lot of people mad and poked holes in every cliche in country music. The video is hilarious and viciously attacks everything the girls are singing about and against.

The Swon Brothers // “Later On”

Talk about a toe-tapper! These brothers know how to get a crowd “moving, shaking, grooving” with this hit song and the behind-the-scenes, real life video featuring the boys playing gigs, rehearsing and doing what brothers do– bowling.

“Dancing With the Stars” co-host Erin Andrews and “Pitch Perfect” star Brittany Snow will co-host the 2015 CMT Music Awards airing live June 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
