Trisha Yearwood is not the only woman who has noticed how few women are played on country radio, but she is one of the few who will address the situation head-on.

It has been almost 3 years since a woman hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart. As a duo, Maddie & Tae hit the top spot and were the first all-female duo in 8 years to get there. To really put it in perspective: Gretchen Wilson was the last female country singer (save Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift) to celebrate a No. 1 hit.

The  numbers really are staggering and Trisha Yearwood told Dan Rather exactly how she feels about it– she doesn’t like it.
