It was an opening to the Oscar awards that we won’t soon forget. In honor of the Oscar nominated movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, Adam Lambert rocked the crowd as the frontman for the legendary band Queen with an energetic medley of the band’s most iconic songs.
Kicking the show off with a passionate rendition of “We Will Rock You,”Adam and Queen had the audience of A-list stars on their feet. Lady Gaga, Queen Latifah, Glenn Close, JLo and Amy Adams couldn’t help but clap and sing along.

After the crowd was warmed up, the band finished it up with a powerful rendition of “We Are the Champions,” to conclude the performance.
While the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, did not win Best Picture (Greenbook took home the win), Rami Malek did take home the Best Actor in a Leading Role Oscar for his portrayal of Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury.
“Thank you Queen. Thank you guys for allowing me to be the tiniest part of your phenomenal, extraordinary legacy. I am forever in your debt,” he said in his speech.
This is the third performance in recent months where Adam has wowed audiences with covers of iconic classics. The former “American Idol” contestant covered Cher’s “Believe” at the Kennedy Center Honors and followed that up with Elvis’ “Blue Suede Shoes” during the “Elvis All-Star Tribute,” earlier this month.
