While they still have a long road to go, Amanda Kloots is sharing a positive update to the health of her husband Nick Cordero, who has been in ICU fighting for his life against the coronavirus.

“We had some great news this morning,” Amanda shared alongside a throwback photo of Nick. “Nick is starting to follow commands and doing simple tracking!!!!! He is very weak so even just opening his eyes is a struggle, but it is happening. He is starting to wake up!! We are by no means out of the woods yet, there are still concerns with other things, but this news today on his mental status is a win!!”

She followed that post up with a photo of her and her son, Elvis, saying, “Positivity, hope, perseverance, strength and prayers! We aren’t giving up Nick Cordero! #wakeupnick.”

Nick has been battling the coronavirus for over a month, when he was admitted to the hospital in early April. The actor has been unconscious and on a ventilator. Amanda has been keeping fans up to date on his health and asking for prayers for her husband to wake up.

Amanda even started an event where people around the world would sing her husband’s song “Live Your Life, at 3pm to help wake him up. She added the hashtag #wakeupnick.

Unfortunately during the updates, Nick’s condition worsened and doctors were forced to amputate his right leg as a result.

“Okay I just heard from the doctor and he’s doing good guys,” Amanda said in an Instagram video. “For Nick, he is doing the best that he possibly can right now, which is a huge hallelujah. Surgery went well, he’s recovering well from surgery, the wound looks okay, he didn’t lose a lot of blood.”

Nick’s health has now turned toward the positive and we’re hoping he continues on that path and will wake up very soon.
