As details emerge about Teen Mom star Amber Portwood’s domestic battery charge, the situations is getting crazier by the minute.
According to TMZ, who obtained court documents, Amber threatened her boyfriend Andrew Glennon with a machete. The documents reveal that Amber hit a door with the machete and Andrew was on the other side. While the door got the brunt of the attack, Amber then threw a shoe at Andrew, striking him while he was holding their 1-year-old child, James.
The Teen Mom star was slapped with a restraining order, preventing her from going near her husband or son and is facing 3 felony charges including domestic battery and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, TMZ reports.
As if the situation wasn’t bad enough for Amber, Andrew has filed for sole custody of their son James. Amber was arrested on Friday (July 6) in her home state of Indian after police were called by Andrew.
This isn’t the 29-year-old’s first run in with the law. She was arrested in 2010 and charged with felony domestic battery after allegedly choking her ex Gary. In 2011, Amber was arrested for violating terms of her probation. In 2012, the Teen Mom star was again arrested and sentenced to five years in jail for prescription drug possession and violating probation.
Amber also shares a 10-year-old daughter, Leah, with ex-boyfriend, Gary Shirley. Gary spoke out about the situation on Twitter after news broke.
“My prayers are with @AmberLPortwood, Andrew, & most importantly baby James,” he shared. “Idk any of the particulars, however I’m thinking of them. And for all the questions and concerns Leah was/is currently camping with her best friend.”
