Comedian Amy Schumer and husband Chris Fischer welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Sunday night (May 5) and shared an adorable photo of the little guy. Now, the new mom is sharing her new son’s name.
Amy and Chris’ son will go by Gene Attell Fischer. In a post on Instagram, Amy shared a photo of her husband, Chris, holding his baby boy, as Gene looks into the camera.
“Gene Attell Fischer And his dad Chris,” Amy captioned the sweet photo.
While Amy has not confirmed the meaning behind name, People reports that the baby’s middle name could be in honor of her friend and fellow comedian Dave Attell.
Amy announced the arrival of her little boy shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the arrival of their son. Amy followed in the royal’s footsteps by not releasing the name.
“10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born,” she wrote in the post.
However, Amy has jumped ahead of the Prince and his wife by giving her baby a name before they did. The royals however, did release the first photos of baby Sussex on Tuesday (May 8).
Gene is the first baby for both Amy and Chris. Congratulations!
