Nothing says girl power like a mix of Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and Lana Del Ray. And lucky for us, we are getting all of that girl power and more via the new song and music video “Don’t Call Me Angel.”
The video, which was released Thursday night (Sept.13,) features the powerhouse women delivering a feminist anthem of epic proportions. Soon to be featured in the Charlie’s Angels movie this November, the song is a song of strength for all the women that don’t appreciate being talked down to by a man.
“Uh, I make my money, and I write the checks, so say my name with a little respect,” the pop trio sings in the song, whose video has Cyrus, Grande and Del Ray showing off their musical muscles in more ways than one.
What’s even cooler is that the three successful women all actually played a role in writing the song alongside McKay and ALMA.
Of course, much like anything Cyrus does these days, the song and video did receive much attention from her fans, especially those that seemed to tease that the lyrics were a bit of shade on Cyrus’ ex Liam Hemsworth, who was actually known for calling her ‘angel’ throughout their 10+ year relationship.
Make no mistake – no matter who she is singing to, Cyrus has never looked stronger, as her recent Instagram pics from the video clearly demonstrate.
