While Hannah Ann may have won and then lost The Bachelor Tuesday night (March 10), in the end, she came out a real winner.
You read it right. Hannah Ann was the last woman standing when Peter got down on one knee and proposed to her. However, the 23-year-old was unaware that Madison had just left two days before and that Peter was still in love with Madison. So Hannah’s decision to say yes to his proposal happened without all the information.
In Tuesday night’s finale, we saw Peter have a change of heart and relay to Hannah Ann that he could not give all of his love to her. Really? That’s when Hannah Ann did a one eighty. Once known as the troublemaker and the one too young to get married, Hannah Ann changed everyone’s mind with her maturity when she stood up to Peter in a way that made all women proud.
“When I said yes to you, I said yes to a partnership and I said yes to us being teammates and working thought things together the love I have to give will endure the absolute worst. But if you can’t give me that love in return then that’s not a relationship,” she said during the awkward breakup. “I told you I would stay by your side even if it killed be but it has to be fifty fifty.
“All I ever asked for is someone to give me their whole heart like I’m giving to them. You took away from me my first engagement. You took that away from me, because I trusted you, and that’s what you have continued to ask me to do. Be patient with me, have faith in me, trust in me,” Hannah Ann added.
Her strength didn’t stop as she confronted Peter during the live finale. And it was her final words that really stung.
“Word of advice, if you want to be with a woman. You need to become a real man,” she closed.
But Hannah Ann is moving on and her fellow bachelorettes have her back. Following the finale, Hannah posted a photo of herself on Instagram, sporting a bomber jacket, scarf and flying goggles. (In reference to Peter being a pilot)
“Flyin’ solo… no turbulence accepted. PERIOD,” she wrote in the caption.
Many of her fellow bachelorettes, past and present, and new fans took to the comment section to praise the 23-year-old for holding her own.
