As much success that “Real Housewives of New York” star Bethenny Frankel has experienced thanks to her bustling “Skinny Girl” brand, she has also gone through her share of challenges, most recently the sudden death of her on again/off again boyfriend Dennis Shields.
On Monday (Aug. 13,) the same day she attended his funeral, Frankel spoke on her socials for the first time about Shields’ death. “Rest In Peace my sweet babies who gave me endless unconditional love. #nowandforever,” she wrote alongside a video of not only Shields, but also Frankel’s dog Cookie who died back in October.
Shields was found dead in his Trump Tower apartment on Friday (Aug. 10,) and police say they are investigating his death as a possible overdose. According to various sources, Shields may have known he had overdosed, supposedly asking for his assistant to give him Narcan before losing consciousness.
He was just 51.
“We are all heartbroken. Dennis was, and will always be, the love of my life,” his wife Jill Shields said in a statement to People Magazine. “His spirit lives on in our children. Please respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
