Back in 2016, the world was rocked by the sudden death of actress Carrie Fisher, who died at the age of 60 as a result of a heart attack while on a plane from London to Los Angeles. And ever since then, fans of the Star Wars superstar have been trying to find a way to live without her.
Her daughter is having the same trouble.
“It has been two years since my Momby’s death and I still don’t know what the ‘right’ thing to do on a death anniversary is (I’m sure a lot of you feel the same way about your loved ones),” Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd wrote on his Instagram page on Wednesday (Dec. 26) alongside a video of her playing at her piano. “So I decided to do something a little vulnerable for me, but something we both loved to do together – sing.”

Ends up that the piano that Lourd is sitting down to play was the same piano that Fisher received as a gift from her father. And for Lourd, sitting at that piano seemed so very cathartic to not only her, but she hopes to everyone else missing her mom.
“I hope this encourages anyone feeling a little low or lost to ‘keep on moving,’” Lourd wrote. “As my Momby once said, ‘Take your broken heart and turn it into art’ – whatever that art may be for you.”
