According to AP, Judge Brenda Penny issued a five-year restraining order forbidding Britney Spears’ former manager from “contacting the singer or her family or making disparaging statements about them online.” According to the restraining order, Sam reportedly must stay at least 200 yards away from Britney, her children, and her parents.

Britney was not present in court, but her father, Jamie Spears—who has a court-ordered conservatorship over his daughters affairs, spoke on her behalf. Sam Lufti (44), the former manager, also spoke in front of the judge with his attorney, Marc Gans, who claimed that the order is an unconstitutional restraint on his speech.

AP reports that Marc Gans said, outside the courthouse, that they are considering appealing the judges decision.

While on the stand, Jamie reportedly revealed that his relationship with his daughter had been strained but shared that Sam was trying destroy the conservatorship with his harassment online.

“I worried that he was trying to take down the conservatorship,” Spears said. “I was very angry. I was worried that we were right back in 2008.”

Sam and his lawyer have denied the claims. However, Sam did admit that while he had not direct contact with Britney he did call her mother, Lynne Spears, and brother-in-law James Watson. He also sent Lynne Spears money that was returned. Sam’s attorney has argued that the Tweets Sam made were “far too vague to be considered harassment of the Spears family.”

Apparently, the Judge disagreed.
