Fans will recall that the actor, who passed away on Saturday (July 6) in his sleep after a suspected epileptic seizure, played Cruella de Vil’s son Carlos in all three films of the franchise. Descendants 3 is scheduled to premiere on the network on August 2.

In a statement, Disney Channel also announced that The Walt Disney Company will be making a special donation to the Thirst Project, a philanthropic organization that the 20-year-old had enthusiastically supported in recent years. The donation will essentially take the place of the red carpet premiere.

“We’re proud to be part of Cameron Boyce’s legacy by showcasing his talents on screen, but we are cancelling the red carpet premiere event for “Descendants 3” scheduled for July 22 and instead, The Walt Disney Company will make a donation to the Thirst Project, a philanthropic organization to which Cameron was deeply committed,” the network’s statement read.
