During a night already filled to the brim with emotion, Camila Cabello performed her heartbreaking ballad “First Man” for her father sitting in the front row Sunday night (Jan. 26) at the Grammys.

And once again the tears flowed, on a day when many of us were fairly sure we had no tears left.

The song, which is featured on Cabello’s new album Romance, tells the story of a girl in love, but a girl that knows that another man in her life loved her first.

And that’s her daddy.

“I swear on my heart / That he’s a good man / I know you’ll stay up late / Just waiting for me / You held me so tight / Now someone else can / But you were the first man that really loved me,” she sang to her father.

Somehow, Cabello kept it together through much of the performance, especially as she walked carefully down the steps from the Grammy stage to meet her father in the front row. After the performance was through, the father/daughter pair embraced as Cabella’s dad cried.

It was one of those Grammy moments no one will soon forget.

Of course, it certainly seemed as Cabella was also singing about her relationship with her current love Shawn Mendes, who accompanied her after the show to the Grammys after party according to reports.

And while Mendes and Cabello didn’t come home with the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award for their hit “Señorita,” it certainly feels like they all came home with so much more.
