Chip and Joanna’s Baby Boy, Crew, Steals The Show on “Today”

Over the summer, Chip and Joanna Gaines welcomed their fifth child, Crew Gaines, into the world— and though their HGTV show “Fixer Upper” has come to an end, we still got a glimpse of baby Crew on TV when his mom and dad visited Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on “Today.”

Chip and Joanna went on “Today” to discuss Joanna’s new book, “Homebody,” and to talk about what life with five kids is like. Naturally, Hoda and Savannah couldn’t wait to get their hands on baby Crew— so, they brought him out during the interview.

“We were talking the other day; he’s (slowed) down time for us,” Joanna said as Savannah cuddled baby Crew. “He has just been a gift.”

Of course, this brought up the conversation on whether Chip and Joanna would want to add a sixth baby to their clan.

“He wants him to have a sister,” Joanna said of Chip’s opinion on the matter. “But I love the process of being pregnant. I love giving birth.”

She also said her other four kids, Drake, Ella, Duke and Emmy, have been a huge help with baby Crew, which is the only reason adding another baby wouldn’t seem so daunting. “That’s why, really, the idea — not that we’re having more — the idea (of another baby), it just seems … so easy. When you have a gap from 8 to this, newborn, it’s easy.”
