While friends and fans around the world are mourning the loss of Luke Perry, who died following a massive stroke, his co-stars are reeling from their loss.

While Cole Sprouse, who portrays Jughead Jones in Riverdale, was out doing an interview for his new movie Five Feet Apart, he was asked about how he’s doing following Luke’s passing.

“We’re recovering, yeah,” Cole said.  “It’s obviously not the easiest thing to talk about, but he was well-loved and there’s been an outpouring of emotional support from people around the world, which just goes to show what a wonderful person he was and how much he impacted people’s lives and impacted our lives.“

He went on to add, “But I know that his family has requested privacy during this period and I respect that quite a bit.”

Another Riverdale co-star, Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge, also shared her feelings about Luke.

“He took care of us all, an authentic man who took pleasure in offering us his guidance and wisdom,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her and Luke at a party. “His presence was healing; he had the ability to make you feel comfortable and at ease within seconds of seeing him. i will never forget the collective shock and distress we experienced when the news broke on set. we lost a dear friend. my heart hurts for his family and anybody who had the pleasure of knowing him.

She went on to add a message to Luke. “Rest in peace, luke. although you’re no longer around to wrap me in the warmth of your hug, i can still remember what it felt like. whenever i think of you, i will remember that feeling.”

Best known for his role as Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210, the 52-year old began playing Fred Andrews, Archie’s dad, on The CW drama Riverdale in 2017.
