After giving birth to her baby boy four weeks early and dealing with complications, Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel is sharing an update on her newborn son, Adler Lawrence Karp.
“We’re still dealing with health issues with him,” Fishel told E! News while attending the American Humane Hero Dog Awards at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday (Oct. 5). “We are still in and out of the hospital. We’re still getting new test results all the time. It’s still so hit and miss. He’s doing well, he’s home and he’s happy, but there are still some health issues.”
However, things are looking up for the little guy, she tells E!
“He’s very strong!” she added. “He lifts his head up! He rolled over from front-to-back at five weeks, which was very soon. I’m not trying to speed up the back-to-front rolling over because then I have to stop swaddling him, and he sleeps so well when he’s swaddled. So I’m not encouraging the speediness of this! But he’s the best, and he’s smiley and he’s happy and he’s giggling.”

Danielle’s water broke when her baby was only 35 weeks old. After she was hospitalized and given an ultrasound, the doctor discovered that there was fluid in the baby’s lungs. Little Adler spent then spent three weeks in the NICU.
While the couple wanted to share the news of their baby’s birth, they were hesitant to reveal the struggles they were dealing with.
“We have also struggled with making this announcement – we are THRILLED Adler is here and we want to shout it from the rooftops but we know posting about his birth and it’s complications opens us up to prying eyes – aka paparazzi staked outside our house, following our every move they way they did several times during my pregnancy,” she shared on Instagram following the birth. “We are much too fragile for that right now and I pray wholeheartedly that we can have some space as we navigate these next few weeks.”
Fishel and Karp got engaged in March of 2018 and married on November 4, 2018. The couple took to Instagram to share the news of their pregnancy in early January, 2019.
“I’m eating for two. I’m napping with wild abandon. Baby shoes. Baby clothes. (I’m shopping). I’m nesting. I’m reading books. I’m madly in love with my husband. I cry at commercials. I’m a walking cliché. I’ve got baby apps. I’m confident. I feel inadequate. I’m showing one day and the next I’m not. I’m nervous. I’m excited,” she said.
We’re wishing little Adler well.
