It looks like NFL players DeAndre Baker and Quinton Dunbar are about to be hit by the strong arm of the law following a concerning incident in Florida.
According to various reports, the two are currently charged with four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm due to an altercation that took place on Wednesday (May 13.) The two are accused of taking money, watches and other valuables from a party that they were attending.
From the looks of it, it seems like the two may have been involved after a gambling deal went bad. And according to various reports, another person may have been involved in the robbery. As of now, this person’s identity is not known since they were said to be wearing a red mask during the entire incident.
The duo have since turned themselves in and appeared in their first court appearance. They were released on bail over the weekend. Bail for Dunbar was set at $100,000 and $200,000 for Baker.
It’s certainly a sad state of events for the two players who had the whole future ahead of them. Baker is currently a cornerback for the New York Giants and Dunbar is a cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks. And according to ESPN, at least one of them has been encouraged to turn themselves in.
“We are aware of the situation,” a statement from the New York Giants said. “We have been in contact with DeAndre. We have no further comment at this time.”
