There are those couples born in reality land that don’t look like they have a chance in the world to succeed once thrust into normal life, but “Bachelor in Paradise” lovebirds Derek Peth and Taylor Nolan were never one of those couples.
They looked like they would make it.
Yet, according to E! News, they did not and recently announced their breakup via a joint statement. “It is with much sadness that we have decided to end our engagement,” the statement reads. “We put everything we could into our relationship and are heartbroken to go forward separately, but we know this is the best decision for the both of us. We will still be present in each other’s lives with support, admiration, and respect for each other.”
It’s a crush to Bachelor Nation, who have seemingly adored the couple since their love story played out on Season Four of the show. “Paradise was amazing, I definitely had started to fall in love with Taylor while we were there but once I went to Seattle and saw her friends and family, it definitely was seeing her heart connect with her loved ones and her animals,” Peth said in a 2017 interview with People Magazine. “There was one morning where we were drinking coffee on the porch looking at Mt. Rainier and reflecting and I was dang, I love this girl.”
Unfortunately, in the end, it looks like the distance between them ended up being the problem in their relationship, with E! speculating that the miles between them were a means to an end for the couple.
