One Country sends their deepest condolences to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his family following the unexpected passing of his father, professional wrestler Rocky Johnson.

In a post on his Instagram page, Dwayne told fans, “Hey everybody, I just wanted to stop in on this really blessed Sunday to say thank you so much. Thank you. My heart is so full of gratitude deep in my bones, in my constitution, in my wiring, in my heart and in my mana for the outpouring of love and the support and the well-wishes and the condolences that you have sent me and my family in this time. You have lifted my spirits in ways that I hope you can imagine.”

Dwayne went on to say, “As you know, I lost my old man a few days ago. I lost him just like that. I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to him. I would give anything right now to give him a big, ol’ hug and a big, ol’ kiss before he crossed over just to say, ‘I love you and I respect you,’ but I didn’t get a chance to say that, but such is life, as many of you know.”

The wrestler-turned-actor and producer explained that his father had experienced a deep vein thrombosis that had dislodged and traveled to his lung which ignited a massive heart attack.

“I take great comfort in knowing it wasn’t prolonged,” Dwayne said referencing that his father had not suffered from a lengthy illness. He also encouraged fans not to wait to reach out to family and friends. “Text them, call them, go see them if they’re close by. And I want you to hug them. Tell them these are the marching orders from Dwayne Johnson who just lost his old man. But you hug them and hug them hard. That’s what I’m doing with my family and my friends and the ones I love. I’m hugging them hard because you never know what’s around the corner,” he said.

In a second post, Dwayne shared an image of a journal, a pen, and a glass of tequila. The caption explains, “This was fun. Written a lot of things over the years, but nothing prepared me for this one. #eulogy #mydad #soulman.”
