The bombshell news of a college bribery scam has hit Hollywood. Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, among a number of others, have reportedly been charged in a college bribery scam.

According to TMZ, court records reveal that parents paid hefty bribes to get their kids into colleges which included Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California. Coaches accepted bribes to admit students ot the colleges regardless of their athletic skill. Millions were spent to help student athletes gain admission to these colleges.

TMZ reports that Lori and her husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly paid $500,000 to have their 2 daughters admitted to the crew team at USC. Mossimo was also charged in the indictment.

According to the indictment, Felicity and her husband, William H. Macy,”made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000 … to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter. Huffman later made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so.” The indictment reveals that their daughter was given more time to take the SAT as other students and the paid proctor agreed to secretly correct her answers afterwards.

At the center of the corruption is William Rick Singer, who was charged with racketeering, money laundering and obstruction of justice. Singer would get the money from the parent and pay off administration officials and coaches to get give their kids an advantage.

The US Attorney’s office held a press conference this morning saying, there were two kinds of fraud. One was to cheat on SAT’s or ACT’s and the second was to use his connections with division 1 coaches to get these parents to pay bribes for their kids to get into school. Felicity, according to the spokesman, took advantage of the SAT cheating scam, some parents did the other and some did both, they revealed.

“These are not the only parents involved, we will be moving ahead to additional targets,” the spokesman stated.

TMZ also reports that Felicity has been arrested and will be released on signature bond. William H. Macy was not charged.
