Hallmark Channel’s “When Calls The Heart” Returns With New Episodes Following Lori Loughlin Firing

Calling all #Hearties. The popular Hallmark Channel show, When Calls the Heart, that once starred actress Lori Loughlin, has announced that the show will be returning with a special 2-night back-to-back premiere event, sans their star.

In a special message on the channel, actress Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton in the series, shared the news with fans of the show.

“I’m so happy to tell you that season six is returning Sunday, May 5 at eight,” Erin says in the video. “But that’s not all. We want to give you something special to mark our return. So we’ll also be airing a second brand new episode on Monday, May 6. That’s right, brand new episodes two nights in a row before we’re back on our regular night, Sunday’s at 8. We can’t wait to welcome you back to Hope Valley and share more all new stories with you.”

With that, Erin shared a sneak peek of what’s to come in the new episodes. In case you’re wondering, no, Lori Loughlin is not seen in the sneak preview.

Executive producer Brad Bird posted a message about the show’s return on Instagram.

” #Hearties, thanks for sticking with us through this challenging time. As you now know… the show not only must go on, but will go on, starting Sunday night, May 5th and Monday night, May 6th, and then in our regular Sunday night time slot after that through the remainder of Season 6,” he wrote. “Life throws all of us painful curveballs, and the only way to survive is to walk right through them with courage, grace, a forgiving spirit, and most of all, hope. Many of you have wondered what the future holds for our cast and crew, and for the citizens of Hope Valley. Your care and concern means the world to us, and the best way we can thank you is to encourage you the way you encourage us because… Hope always lives here. ”

Lori and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were arrested during the college admissions scandal for paying $500,000 to have their 2 daughters admitted to the crew team at USC.  The couple had been charged with ‘conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and honest services mail and wire fraud.’ Recently, additional charges have been placed on Lori and Mossimo. They have been charged ‘in a superseding indictment by a federal grand jury in Boston on fraud and money laundering charges.’

When Calls the Heart returns to Hallmark beginning Sunday, May 5 at 8pm/7c and continuing Monday, May 6 at 8pm/7c.
