Hilaria Baldwin, wife of Alec Baldwin and fitness guru, recently shared a very personal moment with her fans on social media. The mom of four posted the emotional news that she was “experiencing a miscarriage.”
In a post on Instagram, Hilaria revealed what she was going through. “I want to share with you that I am most likely experiencing a miscarriage,” she wrote. “I always promised myself that if I were to get pregnant again, I would share the news with you guys pretty early, even if that means suffering a public loss.”

While some feedback from the post was negative, the overwhelming majority of comments were supportive and from women who have experienced miscarriages. Now, the 36-year-old is appearing on the Today show to speak out about her decision to be so open with her personal situation.
“For me personally, it would be harder to do it silently…being open for me just allowed me to relieve it a little bit…I’m feeling okay. I mean, this is something that has not been easy,” she said. “I understand it and I wanted to come out and speak about it because it’s something that so many people deal with and as women, we are trained to deal with it silently.”
Hilaria went on to explain the moment that she got the news that something wasn’t right.
“Anybody who has had children or multiple children, you know that you have your scans and your different appointments,” she continued. “The good news — they are always very chipper and they say wonderful things, and then there is the silence. The silence makes you very nervous. This technician, she just kept on being quiet and kept on trying to find the heartbeat…she could find it but it was very slow and she said to me that the heartbeat is not very fast.”

As she continues through the process, Hilaria will undergo another scan of the pregnancy to find out where it stands.
“I think I’m going to have the answer one way or the other,” she revealed. “I’m pretty sure this is not going to stick and, you know, when we agree to be parents, we have to accept the good and the bad. We have to realize it’s not just all diapers and blankets and hair bows, we have to open our hearts and realize that there is going to be hard moments, too.”
We send out well wishes to Hilaria and her family at this time.
