Congratulations are in order for Hoda Kotb and her partner Joel Schiffman, who just added a new bundle of joy to their family.
The Today show anchor used her platform on the show to share the news that she has become a mother of two. After adopting her first daughter, Haley Joy, two years ago, Hoda chose to adopt again. The 54-year-old called into the Today show to give them the exclusive news.
“It’s a girl,” Hoda said on the call. “And her name is Hope. First of all she’s laying on the boppy pillow right now and I’m feeding her and I can’t believe it. I’m so happy she’s here.”
As for how little Hayley is liking being a big sister? She loves it.
“Hayley is digging it,” Hoda revealed. “This morning at breakfast she was trying to feed her her raspberries and I was like, ‘not yet babe.’ She was literally marching around saying, ‘I’m a big sister.’ It’s so much fun you guys.
The Today show crew took to Instagram to share a photo of Hoda and her two girls along with a congratulatory message.
“Congratulations are in order for @hodakotb, who adopted a second little girl, Hope Catherine, this week. 💕,” they wrote.
Hoda adopted her first daughter, Hayley, two years ago on February 21, 2017, announcing the news on the Today show. The hosts of the show were all in the studio when the mom of two called in to share her good news. After being asked if she ever thought her heart could give more love than it’s already given, Hoda shared the happiness of seeing her heart grow for her new baby.
“You think that you’re full,” Hoda said. “You think that you’re full, that’s exactly how I felt with Hayley and Joel and everything. Joel and I were standing there when they hand you the baby and it’s the closest thing to the live birth that you’ll ever see. In that moment I was like, ‘my God, my heart just grew.’ It’s amazing. I can’t believe it’s happening y’all, I can’t.”
Congratulations to Hoda and her growing family.
