During recent months when former President George H.W. Bush endured the loss of his wife Barbara along with a number of frequent trips in and out of the hospital for himself, it was clear that one of his main goals was to go back to the shores he loves so much alongside the family he loves even more.
And yes, he has now done just that.
The former president’s granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager headed to her Instagram page on Thursday (Aug. 23) to share a number of pics of her and her extended family enjoying their vacation in Kennebunkport, Maine. The pictures include a number of shots of President Bush in a wheelchair with his family around him.
“Back now… but dreamed of Maine last night,” Hager wrote alongside the Instagram pictures that also included pics of Hager’s sister Jenna and her mom Laura and dad, former President George W. Bush. “Love this place… love these people. What a magical week with the ones I adore.”
Of course, the holiday had to be a tad bittersweet for the entire family, as it was the first one in which Hager’s grandmother Barbara was not there to enjoy it. She passed away earlier this year at the age of 92.
