Jenna Dewan Opens Up on Divorce From Channing Tatum: “I Let Myself Cry”

Divorce and separation is never easy— especially when your entire life is in the spotlight. When Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum announced their split after nine years of marriage, news spread like wildfire.

Now, Jenna Dewan is opening up about life since their split and what it was like to grieve in front of millions. “I’m obviously super aware that people know me, they know Channing, they know us together. We’d been a beloved couple for a long time,” she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

For Jenna, she says it was all about letting her feelings simply be felt.

“People are like, ‘How do you get through this?’, she recalled. “I didn’t run away from my feelings.”

Jenna says she allowed herself the time to be sad in order to heal. “I let myself cry. I let myself grieve. This is one of those situations where I will see the light,” she said. “The dawn is coming.”

Now, she says she’s looking onward and upward as she and Channing remain friends. “I do believe in love still, but I also believe it begins with really digging deep and learning how to love yourself. And then I think you sort of transmute that out to attract the right partner. I think that people who are meant to be sort of find each other.”
