Former MLB Superstar Josh Hamilton Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

Texas Rangers superstar Josh Hamilton is in some major trouble.

On Wednesday (Oct. 30,) the former Major League Baseball player turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest on child abuse charges. According to the document, Hamilton is accused of throwing his oldest daughter on a bed and beating her. CNN says that Hamilton now faces one count of injury to a child, which a third-degree felony in his home state of Texas.

Hamilton will now be heading to court in the coming weeks for the September incident, in which the daughter told her mother what had happened and child protective services were called in.

“I hope you go in front of the (expletive) judge and tell him what a terrible dad I am so I don’t have to see you anymore and you don’t ever have to come to my house again,” Hamilton is accused of saying while the beating took place, according to the arrest warrant.

It’s a sad state of affairs for the former MLB pitcher, who gained much acclaim after winning the American League’s Most Valuable Player Award back in 2010. He also has been vocal about his struggles with substance abuse in the past.

We pray that everyone in this family gets the help they so desperately need.
