As famous as Justin Timberlake is, one role fans don’t know that much about is his life as a dad at home with wife Jessica Biel and son Silas. The superstar couple keeps Silas out of the spotlight almost entirely, save a few profile shots of the youngster on Instagram.
Recently, as Timberlake announced his new album, Man of the Woods, he shared, “This album is inspired by wife, my son, my family and more than any other album I’ve written– where I’m from. It’s personal.” But, it wasn’t until he sat down with Zane Lowe and Beats 1 Radio that we kind of know what that means for him. The title of the album actually came from his son.
“I literally just went on Google like, ‘meaning of the name Silas,’ and it sent me to this to this site and it said, ‘of Latin origin, meaning ‘Man of the woods,'” he shared. “I was like, ‘How serendipitous that my last is Timberlake, like what does that mean?’ When you have kids, all of a sudden you’re faced with your own childhood, good and bad, and am I gonna completely mess this kid up? I feel like the success of parenthood is feeling like, ‘Uh, I failed all day today but I get to wake up tomorrow and do it again,’ and hopefully, they turn out to be a good human being.”
Timberlake also shared that, yes, he wants more kids– as many as possible.
“I mean, I want to have as many as we can if I’m being honest. I’ve never felt more inept my life. You wake up and all of a sudden there’s this human being you’re responsible for.”
