It was inevitable. Since winning the inaugural season of American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has worn her heart and her funny bone on her sleeve, and still managed to be taken very seriously as a singer and songwriter. She’s become a bona fide pop music icon whose endearing nature has afforded her warm welcomes into other formats, including country music.

So, it only makes sense that her new daytime talk show is already a hit. And a hilarious one at that.
In its second week, Kelly has already welcomed a plethora of guests, including fellow show host, Ellen Degeneres, and her own mother. It has also brought her competitive nature right to the center stage. Guest Matt Iseman from American Ninja Warrior had to remind Kelly repeatedly to be a good sport when she took on Jennifer Garner in a round of Hollywood Game…Afternoon?
The riff on the successful Jane Lynch hosted Hollywood Game Night paired Jen’s team against Kelly’s team for “Where Ya Goin’?” This game requires teammates to give clues to a designated driver who tries to guess a specific location. They have 60-seconds to guess as many locales as they can and the team that scores the most points wins.

While Jennifer’s team executed their clues and guesses relatively calmly, the volume increased as the clock ticked down. Kelly, who was complimentary to Jennifer’s team, started at an elevated level.
In the end, Jennifer’s team edged out Kelly’s with a score of nine to seven, and Kelly rallied to give her competition a warm embrace.
